Squashed expectations
Here I am. Finally,
spring has sprung . . . or at least it looks that way, and I am
looking forward to a bounty of fresh vegetables growing in the
garden. BUT, having put my squash plants into the ground two days
ago, they now look like this . . .
Nnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooo!
So, here is the thing, they are not quite dead –
nearly, but not quite, and I wondered whether it might be possible to
Heal them back to strength? Hmmmm. Maybe I’m taking on too much and
the plants are already too far gone. But, I have decided to give it a
go and see what happens . . .
Stay tuned, I will
let you know how it goes. It’s going to take some serious Healing
but I like squash way too much to let this be the fate of my
vegetable season!
think good thoughts . . . think good thoughts . . . think good thoughts . . . think squash!

The future, according to Simon MIlton-Jones
So, I've been doing
a lot of email readings so far this summer and I can honestly say, I
am very pleased with the way things are going. The readings flow and
there have been some interesting requests, (I love the weird and
wonderful).
I thought I would
put a short blog out there on the world wide web of internetedness
about the future as that's what this round of readings is all about.
No, I'm not going to make any prophecies about which way the world is
going to turn, although I will say that I never expected the UK would
actually leave the EU, and so therefore, I am prepared to predict
Donald Trump as the next US president
. . . they deserve him.
Anyway, back on
track, the future . . . The future of the world at large moves and
changes very slowly and it will probably feel that we are unable to
do anything about it. What we can change is our own personal world
and it's easier than you think.
The future is not
set in stone, you can change it as and when you like. I am not one to
ever quote the bible but in this instance, it kinda hits the nail on
the head with, you reap what you sow. If you want to change your
future, but do nothing about it, nothing will happen. If you want to
change your future and begin to do something about it, something will
happen. It's not rocket science and it's a concept that everyone can
understand.
If you want to make
a change for your future, you need to physically, actually do
something about it. There is no point waiting for an outside force to
come and do it for you, it will never happen. In order to set the
great universal wheels in motion, you need to turn the first cogs
yourself, and the most simple way of doing that is to make a plan.
First of all, work out what outcome you want from the future, once
you know that, you need to start working backwards and find out what
needs to be done to bring about the changes. Crap, I can feel another
bible quote coming on . . . God helps those who help themselves.
Another way of saying it is, the Universe only gives you what you ask
for. If you are waiting for a change to take place, that's what the
Universe will also do, wait. If you start doing something, then the
Universe will reply in kind and also start doing.
You get the idea.
So, instead of
wanting a change, make a change. You are in control of your own
future, don't let anyone convince you otherwise. Work out what you
want from the future and then create a plan on how to get there.
Start small, and remember, nothing comes to those who wait!

Big fish'n
I know this has nothing to do with my work, unless I decided to feed 5000 folk with my
fish . . . and I think that would be pushing it a bit. So, why am I telling you about my fishing exploits? Because it reminded me that work never stops, no matter what we do, there is always work to be done. With that in mind, it is more important that we find time to play. I took three hours of of my afternoon to unwind . . . actually, that’s a small lie, my wife “suggested” that I go out and fish because I was being grumpy. Anyway, the point is that I left work alone, and went out to play :-)
I have lost count of the number of people coming to see me for healing because they have lost all their energy, feel burnt out, have hit the wall. It’t distressing to see so many people suffering because they have pushed themselves too hard for too long. In most cases, people take years in getting to their burnt out place, I call it “creep” because it doesn’t happen all at once, it creeps upon you over a period of time. Perhaps it’s simply part of modern-day religion, must work harder. I have noticed that Norwegians are much better at leaving work on time whereas in the UK, there is a culture of working longer and harder – if you don’t put in enough free overtime, you are certainly not going to get anywhere. It’s this weird work ethic that is driving a lot of people to sickness. They stop being able to function properly, unable to make clear decisions, begin to feel depressed. Surely that’s not what life is about?

A work / life balance is all very well, but when the balance tips too much towards work, it needs to be addressed. There was a client I saw recently, who had a very successful career in media, only to find that after years of being on top of everything, life has passed her by and she had hit the wall. For years, her focus had been on work, with no time for actually relaxing and finding out what else she is. This is no way to live life. Life has so much more to offer than the 8-16 push, push, push, and it’s so important that we take the time to go fishing.
With that in mind, I have seeds that need planting out, a fish to slow cook for dinner and an eye on this week’s weather forecast. There will definitely be more fishing to come.

Spring fling!
Now that we've moved
from the lofty heights of Gjøra to the centre of the sprawling
metropolis that is Sunndalsøra, spring has taken me by surprise!
Usually, I would be cursing that there is never going to be enough
time for my vegetables to grow before harvesting. Now, I'm thinking
damn it, I should have had my squash and carrots in the ground
already! Nature has beaten me to it again!
Thankfully, I am
getting more time at home these days, less travelling around the
country and so there is time enough to play at being the gardener.
It's not that I don't like travelling around Norway, but what with
four children, three horses, a wife and a dog, my time is much better
spent closer to home.
Pleasantly, it does
allow me to work in a very effective way – e-mail readings. There
is something to be said for being able to shut the world out, connect
with a client and write a reading in the comfort of my own office
(steaming bowl of lady grey to the left). There is such a benefit to
having a reading presented to you in black and white, or blue and
white . . . or green and white, depending on what mood I'm in. It
allows clients to be able to read it again and again, rather than
having to remember what what said, face to face.
Sticking to the
memory of spring, here at the international headquarters of Simon
Milton-Jones Healer and Medium, we are offering e-mail readings at
half price (500kr). Other than arguing with Mother Nature about when
the squash seeds should have been planted, spring is usually a time
of renewed vigour, stamping your feet into the ground and making big
decisions. There is something about it all that gives us a sense of
empowerment, optimism and a feeling that things are on their way up.
So, for me, this
spring, I plan on doing more and more e-mail readings, not just so I
will have time closer to home but also because it's a nice way of
connecting with my clients and giving them something personal and
memorable. As of writing this blog, I still have no seeds in the
ground but I do have a very nice 40 year old gressløk plant (chives)
that is declaring itself the supreme winner of all things coming
early this year. Impressive.

Murder victim
Not so long ago, I met with a client who wanted to speak to her
dead best friend and it was clear from the moment she sat down that it wasn’t
going to be a straight forward reading.
It’s normal for me to know nothing about a new client or why
they come to see me and this case was no exception. As I began describing how I work and what
clients can generally expect from a reading of this kind, I could feel a woman (dead)
standing to my right and I felt sure this was the woman my client wanted to
speak with.
So, here is the story; my client’s best friend died in an
accident while she was enjoying some time with her boyfriend. There was a crash
and the boyfriend was thrown from the scene but the girlfriend was trapped and
was unable to escape. The boyfriend was in a state of shock and found himself
unable to do anything to help. He wasn’t able to call for help for almost five
hours after the accident. Unfortunately, the girlfriend was dead by this point.
Hmmm, well there is nothing weird about that, these things
happen and that’s what the police also thought. It’s a tragic accident.
OK, back to my client, I provided strong evidence that it
was her best friend that was with us and we moved on. The dead person who we
shall call Kari came through to me so very clearly and her energy was so strong
that there was no mistaking what she was saying, “This was no accident”. Kari
went on to say that she had been beaten by her boyfriend a number of times during
their relationship and this wasn’t an unusual thing. The best friend was
already aware of the abuse. On this particular day, Kari and boyfriend had had
another fight and he had beaten her in such a way that it was clearly visible to
anyone looking at her. The boyfriend, an intensely jealous man with an anger
issue, was concerned about how his girlfriend looked and that people would notice
what he had done, public opinion was important to the boyfriend.
Without going into every aspect of the accident, I can tell
you that Kari described the incident in devastating detail, leaving very little
to the imagination. Kari showed that the boyfriend tried to make the situation
appear as an accident when in fact it was engineered to cover up what he had
done to her and to prevent her from speaking out about him. Kari talked about
seeing her boyfriend sitting to the side, away from the scene, watching and
waiting. Through her eyes, he was waiting for her to definitely be dead . . .
and then, almost five hours later, he phoned the police. Kari was trapped,
unable to breath, unable to escape and according to her, the boyfriend just sat
there waiting.
This is still an ongoing case for the Norwegian Police and
although the boyfriend has been arrested, the case against him is not for
murder and it is expected that he will serve no more than 8 months in prison if
convicted.
I saw all of the events play out through her eyes, I felt
her shock, turn to horror, then panic followed by a frustrated resignation and
finally relaxation. Kari left me with the absolute feeling that she wanted the
truth to be brought to light and for her young children left behind to know
what this man did to their Mother.
Of course, there is still a great deal of anger in Kari and
I am sure it is justified but other than bringing her message to the best friend
that came to see me, what can I do? Nothing. For me to stand up, visit the
Police and let them know what Kari has told me would have no effect. It would
not help the legal argument in any way. I don’t believe Mediums and especially
psychics, should be involved in legal argument. The role we have to play is
providing evidence that our loved ones are still with us, provide assistance to
friends and loved ones when needed and offer a no nonsense, clear, unbiased,
filter-free communication with those that are already dead.
Today, the boyfriend now has a new partner and freely
wanders around his home town. My client, found an understanding of what had
happened, it confirmed some thoughts and denounced others but ultimately she
felt relief that her best friend was still with her and could still look out
for her children.

To be (humble) or not to be (humble), that is the question.
![]() |
| Rabindranath Tagore |
I move aside to avoid his presence but I escape him not.
He makes the dust rise from the earth with his swagger; he adds his loud voice to every word that I utter.
He is my own little self, my lord, he knows no shame; but I am ashamed to come to thy door in his company.
This is a wonderful piece of text by famous Indian Guru Rabindranath Tagore. It's quite simple in its message and beautifully put but I don't necessarily agree with the final sentiment. Yes, being humble is a worthy trait to behold but who ever made something happen or changed a thing by walking softly and without poking their head out above the crowd?
My Spirit Helpers try their best to teach me to be humble and sometimes I listen, and clearly sometimes I don't. When it comes to my “gifts”, I find it's different, I take a more humble approach and not on purpose, it just comes that way. I don't take what I do for granted and I always do my best to be as good as I can. It is true, I am confident when I know I am able to do something, bring through dead friend or relative for someone, heal a prolapsed back or a baby with colic. But my confidence is not arrogance and being confident doesn't mean I am Mr Anti-humble. Yet, time and again, I get the same message from my Helpers – practice humble.
So, even though “humble” isn't the first thing that springs to mind when I think about myself, I do work on it. There is no class Humble 101 I can take, there is no Idiots Guide to being humble, unfortunately it is simply an ongoing process. The real kicker here is that just when you think you are humble, you have to start again because the simple thought “I am humble” comes from the ego and means you still have a long way to go. Bollocks :-/
OK, so I understand why my Helpers want me to work on this, it makes it easier for them to communicate with me, I become a more open channel. I can also see the benefits of taking a humble approach to things, a lack of ego is generally quite an attractive thing in someone. BUT. . . hold on just one God-damned minute. . . I am not Mahatma Ghandi, neither am I His Holiness The Dalai Lahma, I definitely don't wear a loin-cloth (unless it's fancy-dress) and no one asks me for my help saving the world (that's probably a good thing). I am Simon Milton-Jones, a Healer and Medium living in Mid-Norway and I take pride in what I do! When I do a good job, provide a great reading or relieve someone of their pain, I am proud and why shouldn't I be?!
Like 99.999% of other people, when I know I have done something great, I feel three meters tall and I want the full depth and sound of my voice to be heard. I feel like the dust could rise from the earth when I walk (I don't swagger – leave that to John Wayne) and I assure you, I will not, not, not stand in shame when it comes to the things I am passionate about!
So, to be (humble) or not to be (humble), that is the question . . .
I find myself with a dichotomy, a puzzle, do I follow my Helpers and do my best to always be humble or do I stay true to myself and remain far more gregarious, colourful and “out-there”? I don't know but I am sure my path to enlightenment does not lie simply with one or the other. If I were humble all the time, I would drive my Wife, Eva, crazy in a very short period and tell me one person who was ever humble when it came to their divorce?
